NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A dramatic confrontation unfolded Wednesday night when an 18-year-old suspect allegedly opened fire on a police patrol car minutes after shooting a woman at a local park. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released chilling video footage captured from Officer JEFF LUBEY‘s patrol car, showing the suspect, identified as EMMANUAL ORR, turning toward the officer and discharging multiple rounds.
The incident began when ORR allegedly shot a woman at Cedar Hill Park. Minutes later, Officer LUBEY spotted the suspect walking along the roadside. As the patrol car approached, ORR abruptly turned, raised a firearm, and began firing at the officer before fleeing toward a nearby restaurant. According to officials, ORR hid in the restaurant’s bathroom before ultimately surrendering to authorities.
Remarkably, Officer LUBEY emerged unharmed from the encounter. The MNPD praised the officer’s composure and response during the life-threatening situation.
The video footage, which has since gone viral, underscores the escalating dangers law enforcement officers face in the line of duty. The incident has also reignited discussions about gun violence and public safety in the Nashville area.
ORR is now in custody and faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault. The condition of the woman shot at the park remains undisclosed.
