Nassau County Detectives Search for Missing Democratic Candidate and Field Organizer PETROS KROMMIDAS

Nassau County detectives are intensifying their search for PETROS KROMMIDAS, a 29-year-old Democratic political candidate and field organizer who has been missing since last Thursday. KROMMIDAS was last seen in Baldwin, Long Island, according to the Nassau County Police Department. He was wearing a camouflage print sweatshirt and gray sweatpants at the time of his disappearance and is believed to be in the Long Beach area.

Family members of KROMMIDAS, identified by NBC 4, have appealed to the public for assistance in locating him. They revealed that his personal belongings were discovered on the beach last Thursday. According to a social media post, KROMMIDAS parked his car near the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach on Wednesday, April 23, around 10:30 PM. He locked his vehicle, took a towel, and walked onto the beach to exercise, a routine he had followed numerous times before. The following day, authorities found his towel, clothes, and phone left on the beach.

PETROS KROMMIDAS, who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds, is no stranger to cold water training, according to the post. He was preparing to compete in an upcoming triathlon. His LinkedIn profile indicates that he has been working with the Nassau County Democratic Party for over a year and served as a field organizer for five months. He is also listed as a candidate for Nassau County Legislator in the 4th District. KROMMIDAS is a Columbia University graduate and an Intercollegiate Rowing Association national champion.

JAY JACOBS, Chairman of the Nassau County Democratic Party, expressed his deep concern over KROMMIDAS‘s disappearance. “We are heartbroken over the disappearance of PETROS KROMMIDAS,” JACOBS told NBC 4. “Petros is a bright, driven young man who has been a strong voice for Democratic values. He is well respected by the community and represents the very best of our next generation of leaders. We are keeping Petros and his family in our prayers and remain hopeful for his safe return.”

The Nassau County Police Department has not yet responded to requests for additional comments. Search efforts continue, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
